How we rank

One formula, applied the same way to every company. No company pays to be included or to move up.

Who is eligible

Every company holds an active Texas A/C contractor license in TDLR open data (dataset 7358-krk7) with a business address in Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Comal, Bell, McLennan, Burnet or Coryell County. Licenses held by cities, schools, agencies and property managers for their own buildings are excluded.

To be ranked, we must find the company's own website. A site counts only if its homepage carries the company's licensed name and the domain is not claimed by another license. 171 of 1,971 passed. The rest are listed, unranked, in the county directory.

What we do not use

We do not use star ratings or review counts we cannot verify, paid placement, or anything a company tells us privately. We favor posted prices and stated warranties because they are commitments a homeowner can hold a contractor to.

Our own brands

Old West Minisplits and Mini Split Reef are owned by the people who run this site. They are never scored and never appear inside a ranked list. They appear only in boxes labeled Sponsored.

Corrections

If something about your company is wrong or missing, add it to your website and email info@atxminisplit.com. We re-read every site on each update.
