What this means for you
In Texas, installing or repairing air conditioning for pay requires a TDLR A/C contractor license. The most common violation below is simply doing the work without one. Before you hire anyone, ask for the license number and check it. None of the 183 companies ranked on this site has an order on record as of October 4, 2026.
